I LOVE THE PIANO

February 26, 2017

Family,

大家好!

Lot of miracles like usual over in the China Hong Kong Mission!

Livia is doing great. No problems. She will be baptized this Sunday at 12:30! Mostly because of President Lam's helping us teach a few weeks ago.

Also a LA member we have been trying to meet with randomly called us and asked us if we could teach and baptize her non-member 10 year old daughter in the next few weeks! Of course we are making arrangements. Might be this week. We'll see.

Met with a LA son this week who is a non-member. He is very talented. His family has a grand piano Steinway in their house! Pretty incredible especially considering the size of these apartments. I don't know how they got that thing up there. They live on the 18th floor. Anyway he played some piano and violin for us. Played some pieces I used to play. Brought back some memories. I love the piano. What an incredible instrument. Anyway, we practiced the duet we will be doing in church. Sounds pretty good. This will help his mom come to church and we believe he will be baptized soon as well.

Met with a few new potentials this week. There is some good potential there. We are excited to meet with them again this week.

Weather has been absolutely incredible like usual.

Drove again this week and did pretty good. Didn't hit any curbs, didn't turn on the windshield wipers instead of the blinkers, only took 1 wrong exit that cost us 25 min in traffic. I would give myself a solid B. Still working for that A though.

We have this new amazing cleaning tool that helps us mop the floor. I'll have to send you a video next week. One of the coolest inventions ever. Absolutely mind blowing. Keeping the temple apartment looking good.

Last week Elder Lau and I put up our weekly goals on our wall so we could see them, be reminded of them, and work diligently to achieve them. This helped. Our goals were pretty high and although we achieved only 1 of 6, the striving to reach high helped us work harder to achieve them.

Had interviews with President Lam this week. He is incredible. He is so in tune with the Spirit. Even though he usually is just speaking his mind in the interviews, because he is so consecrated, his thoughts are directed by the Spirit and it always seems to be exactly the counsel I need to hear.

President Lam also had an interview with some journalist a week ago or so. She had some basic questions about the church. During the interview, while answering her questions, he turned to 2 Nephi 31 and was explaining what led him to be baptized with the experience with his son. He felt prompting to invite her to be baptized and did. She accepted! Incredible!

Quick thought:

One of my favorite scriptures is D&C 11:17. "And then, behold, according to your desires, yea, even according to your faith shall it be done unto you." Then I think, well how do I show the Lord what my desires are? Oaks said, "Desires dictate priorities...Our priorities are most visible in how we use our time." Also, PMG says, "Goals reflect the desires of our hearts...Do everything within your power to achieve your goals." Then, how do I show my faith? PMG says, "Your faith will be manifest through diligence and work." I think there is a lot of wisdom in that.
