ELDER CLARK ARRIVES

Family,

Good week this week. I went and picked up the new missionary, Elder Clark, on Thursday morning. He is a great guy. From Detroit. Lived in Mainland for 7 years growing up. Mom is Taiwanese, father served mission in Taiwan. Grew up speaking Mandarin. I think he prepared well. And he is happy and willing to do all the practice teaching we do in comp study. We do a lot. I really want to be unified teachers. Unity is so key. I think it is very powerful when 2 missionaries go into a lesson having prepared well, being unified and teaching and testifying with the spirit. That is a formula for success. Anyway, He is excited for the work. We are hopeful and excited about the next 9 weeks together.

Not too much change for the people we are teaching. Zheng DX is off to Germany for work for a few weeks. Everybody else is in mainland or not answering. Except for Tang JM. She is good. We are trying to focus on her son and get him excited about church, so the mom will come. 

I love Preach My Gospel. I don't think I say enough about this book. It is a powerful tool from our Heavenly Father. I really want to be a better teacher and teach more and more like the Savior. One of PMG purposes is to help us become more persuasive teachers.

One cool tender mercy of this week happened yesterday afternoon. We were meeting with the Stake President and he told us the topic for the upcoming Stake Conference. The topic is Doctrine and Covenants 123:17. Kind of cool because last week we had a training in District Meeting on Doctrine and Covenants 123:17. We had felt that we should assign a training on the topic.
