Hong Kong: LI JM GOT BAPTIZED!

Family,

Li JM got baptized! She is awesome. Her son got baptized almost exactly 1 year ago and because he is a priest in the aaronic priesthood, he baptized her. When Elder Stevensen came to Hong Kong in February to speak to the missionaries he read with us from D&C 29:7 and told us that the elect usually have the elect around them. This is one example of that.

Tang JM is doing ok. Their family came to the activity last night and brought some friends.

Met with a few new people we have not met with in a long time. Zhang Jm is from ShangHai. She moved to Hong Kong in '95 and has been here ever since. We met her last week and as we were doing How To Begin Teaching, we mentioned baptism and she has some questions. We told her this is one of our central purpose as missionaries to help others have the blessings of the Atonement of Jesus Christ in their lives. She said, "right now? I don't know if I am ready for that yet." "No, not right now, but we can set a goal with you." She said ok. She came to church with us last week and after told me, "I really liked church today. There was a good feeling there and the people are all really nice"

Met also with a former investigator named Lydia. She has a 4 year old son and is great. She has a light in her eyes that I haven't really seen in anybody but WangLe and Li Jm.

Besides that, Zone Training went well on Tuesday. We learned more about the Why and the How of Always Finding and asking for referrals from everybody we have a conversation with. It was good.

Cool tender mercy this week. We had some time one afternoon and I thought to visit a former investigator I have not been able to contact for about a year. We knocked on her door and she answered. I was so shocked and caught a little of guard. We were able to say a prayer with her and talk to her for a little while.

Anothe cook tender mercy this week. We were doing calls. Calling former and potential investigators and nobody was answering the phone. In an hour we probably only had a handful of people that answered and most or all of them immediately hung up. I was getting a little frustrated and bummed out, so I took a quick break to the bathroom. Then got on my knees and said a quick prayer. I was reminded of the many conference speakers on following the Lord's will. Prayed about that. Got up and started calling people again. The first person I called answered, didn't hang up and we scheduled for 2 days in the future. That is Zhang Jm.
